Computer Login Account
New computer login details can be collected from the respective Administrative Assistant or HR personnel. Please remember your password and should you fail to logon after the 3rd attempt, the system will automatically lock out. To unlock, please contact IT Helpdesk.
Desktop
User will be allocated a Personal Computer at the request and approval of respective School Directors, Manager or Head of Department. The computer will be ready within two working days after the new staff arrival and HR confirmation.
Email Account & Setup
Email account details can be collected from the
respective Administrative Assistant or HR personnel. The
default email application is MS Outlook 2000.

ICT Inquiries or Service Request
ICT inquires or service request can be submitted via email to it.helpdesk@curtin.edu.my or call our Help Desk extension number at 3988 or 3989.
Server File Storage Quota(Z: Drive)
All staffs have a network storage mapped to drive “Z:” and having a storage quota of 200MB only.
Peer to peer file sharing programs
Installation or use of peer to peer file sharing programs such as Gnutella, Kazaa, BitTorrent, etc is not permitted.
Unlawful activity
Unlawful activity, e.g. infringement of copyright,
defamation, hacking, denial of service, breaching of
proxy services. By passing of proxy services, hosting of
unauthorized services etc are not permitted.
Printing
The campus is equipped with black laser printers. Color
printers are located in few areas in the campus and
can be accessed by authorized users only. For more info
on the authorized users, please refer to your School
Directors, Manager or Head of Department.
File Backups
Users are encouraged to make frequent backup copies
of their files saved in the local PC and the network
folders.
On-Campus Internet Access
Internet Access is available in campus offices and
computer labs. The access is monitored and strictly for
academic and work related activities only.
Telephone Facility
Telephone is limited 1 unit per room. It is shared among room occupant. Further amendment to this is to be at the request and approval of respective School Directors, Manager or Head of Department. All outstation calls will require operator’s assistance. The operator can be reach by dialing the usual "0". ICT Equipment Booking
ICT Department do loan equipments to CSM staff for
any academic and important events in Curtin. The loan
equipments are teleconference unit, laser wireless
thumb mouse, portable PA system, projector, laptop,
wireless and lapel microphone.

Personal IT Related Equipment
ICT Department or Personnel are not responsible or
obliged to service, troubleshoot, configure, setup, install,
fix, backup, safety etc any of the user’s personal IT
equipment (such as PC, Notebook , camera, scanner or
other IT related equipments) or software.
The user is responsible to ensure that their equipments or
software are compatible with the University’s facilities if
the user requires using it in the campus.
