A world-class education is within your reach. Find out at Curtin Malaysia’s Academic Open Day.

Miri – 30 June 2018 – Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) is inviting SPM, STPM, UEC, O-Level and A-Level leavers interested to enrol in its current July/August (Semester 2) 2018 intake to its next Academic Open Day on 7 July 2018.

The event, to be held in The Library at its campus from 9.00 am to 3.30 pm, is aimed at promoting the wide range of foundation or undergraduate courses in engineering, science, business and arts offered at Curtin Malaysia to school leavers, including new courses and streams in construction management, software engineering, cyber security and journalism.

They will also be introduced to aspects such as facilities and campus life, scholarships, and career prospects in different disciplines. Guided tours of the campus will also be conducted on an hourly basis throughout the day.

“We invite potential students to come discover why Curtin Malaysia is such a great place to study. As a higher education can be quite a huge investment, particularly if going overseas, we offer the attractive proposition of a world-class Australian education right here in Malaysia, and at very affordable Malaysian fees,” said Curtin Malaysia’s pro vice-chancellor, president and chief executive, Professor Jim Mienczakowski.

A key highlight of the day will be showcases of Curtin Malaysia’s Faculty of Engineering and Science, Faculty of Business and Faculty of Humanities where visitors will get to meet lecturers and current students, view exhibits and try out interactive displays to learn more about the applications of science, engineering and technology; gain insights into finance and entrepreneurship; and experience the intriguing world of media and communication.

In addition, Acting Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business Dr. Shamsul Kamariah Abdullah will give visitors an overview of distributed learning at Curtin Malaysia, including tours of one of its distributed learning rooms, from 11.30 am to 12 noon and from 2 pm to 3 pm.

Staff of the university’s Loans and Scholarships section will also be available to give advice on scholarships and study loans, including the Curtin Malaysia Foundation Scholarships amounting to RM3 million for outstanding SPM students to undertake one-year Foundation programmes, and the Curtin Malaysia Merit Scholarships for outstanding SPM, STPM, UEC, O-Level and A-Level students to enter foundation and degree programmes.

Another key feature will be the Future Students Info Booth manned by marketing staff, where school leavers can get all the information they need to make informed decisions about enrolment. They are advised to bring along their exam results and other supporting documents for on-the-spot assessments and application.

Degree classes for Semester 2 commence on 30 July 2018, while Foundation classes will start on 13 August 2018.
